KUSH workshop

About KUSH

The Craft

KUSH was born from a simple observation: the objects we use in our most private rituals should be as thoughtful as the rituals themselves.

Each mat is assembled entirely by hand in our studio. We begin with Belgian linen—soft, durable, and naturally antimicrobial. Cork slats are then individually placed and secured, creating a surface that's both cushioned and supportive.

There are no shortcuts in our process. Every mat takes time, attention, and care. This is intentional. We believe the quality of an object reflects the care put into making it.

Materials That Matter

Cork is remarkable. Harvested from the bark of cork oak trees without harming the tree itself, it's naturally water-resistant, antimicrobial, and provides gentle cushioning. It also ages beautifully, developing a subtle patina over time.

Linen has been used for thousands of years for good reason. It's strong, breathable, and becomes softer with every wash. Belgian linen, in particular, is known for its exceptional quality and longevity.

Together, these materials create a product that's honest, functional, and beautiful. No synthetics, no shortcuts, no compromises.

Finished mats

The Maker

KUSH is a one-person studio. Every mat you see here has passed through my hands—from the initial assembly to the final inspection.

I come from a background in woodworking and textile design, but KUSH emerged from a personal need: I wanted a sauna mat that felt as intentional as my practice. When I couldn't find one, I made it.

What started as a single mat for personal use has grown into something more. But the principles remain the same: quality over quantity, craft over speed, intention over trend.
